BESD Grows Together!
Dear BESD community,
I wanted to take a moment to provide you with an important update on the leadership structure in the Buckeye Elementary School District, as well as provide additional insight on how we are proceeding for what will surely be an exciting year for our students, staff, and community.
As you may know, the governing board has begun the process of making a leadership change at the Superintendency. Pending the hiring of a new Superintendent, the governing board has asked me to perform the duties typically assumed by the Superintendent. I am honored to have the opportunity to serve you and the entire vibrant Buckeye community during this exciting time of growth, improvement, and commitment to learning for all. I am fully invested in our district’s continued growth and could not be more excited for the work ahead.
Great things are happening in our district and we are eager to accelerate our rapid improvement in regards to student learning, as well as our efforts to deeply engage the community as a vital partner. Buckeye is one of the fastest-growing cities in the entire nation and a strong public education system is an essential component of any future success; quite simply, when our students do well, they are best positioned to support the needs of a growing community. They are our future leaders, workers, innovators, and community role models - and we are committed to facilitating their success.
No school district can be successful without a strong community-district partnership, and you will notice my focus on strengthening that relationship. I am eager to work directly with city, community, and business leaders to coordinate and maximize our efforts. Together, we have directly aligned interests and a shared need to answer the question: how can we collaborate for the betterment of the community that we all love? I can think of no more exciting challenge.
I invite you to review our new district strategic plan, particularly the goals of the teaching and learning department. Further, each school has its own aligned plan and it is our job at the central office to support site implementation of those plans. I encourage you to ask questions, engage with our staff, and learn more about where we are, where we are going, and how we will get there. I will gladly engage in this conversation with anyone who is curious and interested.
Thank you for your continued support of our students and our schools! Stay tuned for more information that I know you will find useful.
Respectfully,
Dr. Chad Lanese
Acting Superintendent
